What if I told you that everything you need to take your business to the next level is already right in your pocket? It sounds almost too simple to be true, doesn’t it? But here’s the thing: your phone is more than just a tool for scrolling social media or sending quick texts—it’s a goldmine of opportunities waiting to be tapped into.
I learned this lesson the hard way.
When I almost lost everything because of a massive and illegal fraud, I was staring at rock bottom. My financial security, my career, and my future seemed to be in shambles. I had two choices: dwell on what I had lost or get up and rebuild. And rebuild I did.
The surprising part? I didn’t need expensive software, flashy ads, or complicated strategies. All I needed was my phone—and the willingness to use it.
Your Network Is Your Net Worth
Inside your phone are the seeds of your success. Think about it: every contact, every name, and every connection stored in your phone represents an opportunity. These are people who already know you, like you, and trust you—or who can introduce you to someone who will.
When I was forced to start over, I picked up my phone and started calling the people in my contacts. No scripts, no fancy sales pitches—just genuine conversations. I reached out, explained where I was, and shared how I could add value. Within 12 months, I was back on my feet, earning multiple millions a year as a coach.
Why? Because success in marketing and sales isn’t about gimmicks or the latest trends. It’s about relationships.
The Simplicity of Taking Action
Here’s the secret: most of us already have what we need to succeed—we just don’t take the action to use it.
We think, “I don’t have the right tools,” or “I need to learn one more strategy before I start.” But the truth is, the most powerful tool you have is the one you’re holding in your hand.
Let me ask you this:
- How many contacts in your phone have you not spoken to in months—or even years?
- How many people would be willing to help you if you simply reached out?
- How many potential clients, collaborators, or opportunities are sitting right there, waiting for you to take the first step?
The difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is simple: they pick up the phone.
Building Your Way Back
When I started making those calls, it wasn’t about selling—it was about serving. I asked myself, How can I bring value to this person’s life or business? That mindset changed everything.
Here’s what worked for me:
- Start with Relationships: Don’t sell—connect. Reach out to your contacts and genuinely ask how they’re doing. Show interest in their lives.
- Add Value: Identify ways you can help them. Maybe it’s offering advice, solving a problem, or introducing them to someone in your network.
- Be Persistent: Not everyone will respond, and that’s okay. Focus on the ones who do, and keep building.
- Stay Faithful: Trust that God is opening doors even when it feels slow. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and
He will establish your plans.” Faith and action go hand in hand.
Within months, those calls turned into opportunities, and those opportunities turned into a thriving business. The formula wasn’t complicated—it was consistent action, faith, and a commitment to serving others.
The Opportunity in Your Pocket
So, what are you waiting for? That phone in your hand isn’t just a device—it’s the bridge between where you are now and where you want to be.
Today, take a moment to scroll through your contacts. Think about who you can call, who you can serve, and who you can reconnect with. Don’t overthink it. Just start.
As I’ve learned, the key to marketing and sales isn’t about having the perfect plan—it’s about having the courage to start where you are, with what you have.
Your next big breakthrough might just be one phone call away.
